Helena M. Smith, 97, of Cazenovia, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, at St. Camillus. Helena was a communicant of St. James Church also she loved to listen to the New York Yankees on her radio. She enjoyed being a great cook and baking her homemade bread in her earlier years. She loved to play cards of any game!
She is predeceased by her husband Lawrence (2000) and daughter-in-law, Pearl McConnell (2011) and granddaughter Kimberly Depuy.
Surviving is her son Robert McConnell of Ft. Myers, Florida, two daughters, Frances DePuy of Arizona and Helena Hughes of Verona, N.Y., 10 grandchildren and several great and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all! Thank you to all of her nurses and aids at St. Camillus that cared for her short time there, it was deeply appreciated by her family!
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, Aug. 11, at St. James Church, 6 Green St. in Cazenovia. The Rite of Committal took place in St. James Cemetery. To send an online condolence, please visit taitfuneralhome.com.
