Victoria E. Mancini

Victoria E. (Commonda) Mancini, 86, of Vine Street in Liverpool, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Francis House in Syracuse. Victoria was a native of Maniwaki, Quebec, where she was raised in the Kitigin Zibi Anishnabeg, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (McDougall) Commonda. She resided at 124 Ford Drive in North Syracuse from 1958-1972 and in Liverpool for the past 10 years.
Victoria retired in 1985 from Carrier Corporation is Syracuse where she was employed as an assembly line worker. She had also worked at Prestolite from 1952-1964. Victoria was a member of the Algonquin Ladies Social Circle in Syracuse and a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence "Lefty" Mancini, in 1990 and by her brother, John Commonda, in 1999.
Victoria is survived by her four children: Will Commonda of Dewitt, Rose Commonda of Maniwaki, Quebec, Ted (Benna) Greenfield of Lakeport, NY, and Chris Mancini of Liverpool; a sister-in-law, Bertha Commonda of Maniwaki, Quebec; nine grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
Calling hours were held at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale and in Canada at the Kitigin Zibi Funeral Home in Maniwaki. Funeral services were held at Holy Rosary Church in Maniwaki, Quebec, with burial following in Maniwaki Reservation Cemetery.
