Wallace W. “Wally” MacCombie, 71, of Minoa, passed away peacefully Sept. 27, 2011, at home with his family by his side. In the early years, Wally was a dairy farmer and raced stock cars as a hobby. After the children came, he became a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He retired from Davis-Wallbridge Inc. after 20 years. Wally enjoyed collecting anything John Deere and die-cast racecars and was an avid NASCAR fan with Jeff Gordon his hero. Wally attended Community Wesleyan Church in Kirkville. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mildred MacCombie.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda J. Troast MacCombie; his children, Donald (Donna) MacCombie East Syracuse, Deborah (William) Pytak Pennsylvania, Patricia (Robin) MacCombie Liverpool and David MacCombie Minoa; seven grandchildren, Craig Case, James MacCombie, Michael Bevilacqua, Laura Griffin, Katrina Lent, David MacCombie, Jr., Ryan MacCombie; and four great-granddaughters, Nichole, Nattallie, Noilyn, Maya and new baby due in April; one great-grandson, Trevor Griffin. Also survived by a brother and several nieces and nephews.
