Franz J. Rogmans

Franz J. Rogmans, 58, of Solvay, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Born in Kevelaer, Germany on Monday, Jan. 12, 1953, he was the son of Eduard Anton Rogmans and Anna Marie Agnes Platzer. He lived since 1984 in the San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento areas of California before moving to the Syracuse area in 2008.
Franz was owner of the Walking Taco, a food stand originally located at the Paradise Market. He used his mobile food trailer for different festivals and was most recently stationed at the Manlius Market. He previously owned a greenhouse operation and a radiant heat business in California. He was a communicant of Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God Church.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, the former Ingrid Fabiola Pineda; daughters, Isabella Rogmans of Solvay and Diana Rogmans and Marie-Luise Rogmans, both of Germany; sisters, Hildegard Rogmans-Weiss and Marie-Luise Bauer, both of Germany; brothers, Otto and Robert, both of Germany, and Werner of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God Church, 450 Wilkinson St., Syracuse. Father David Hewko celebrated a requiem mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the church. Franz was laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Please share condolences at buranichfuneralhome.com.
