Jerome Raymond "Jerry" Mullaly, 72, of Baldwinsville, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011. He was born on July 28, 1939 in New York City, the son of the late Nicholas Jerome and Margaret B. Pohlman Mullaly. He was a long time resident of the Syracuse area.
He graduated from high school in New Lebanon, NY and from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in electrical engineering. Jerry was employed as a design engineer with General Electric, vice president at Omnetics and senior product engineer at SSAC. He received several U.S. patents for semiconductors which he designed. He was a member of St. Augustine's Church and attended St. Joseph the Worker Church.
Surviving are a sister, Margaret Ann "Midge" Mullaly and her husband, Urmas Veri of Cicero; four cousins, John "Larry" Traeger, Barbara Butz, Delores Piniella and Kathy Thomas and long time friend, Christine Kelly.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool. Burial will be Tuesday in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Stephentown, NY. Calling hours: from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday Oct. 16 at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to a charity of one's choice.
