William L. Osborne

November 25, 1945 - October 8, 2011

William L. Osborne, 65, of Camillus, passed away Saturday Oct. 8, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Syracuse on Sunday Nov. 25, 1945, he was the son of Walter Lanson Osborne and Jeannette Marie Perigny Osborne. He graduated from West Genesee High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy, following in his father’s footsteps.
William was then employed with Dumac Business Systems Inc. for 43 years. Known as “Ozzie” to his close friends, he was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed traveling with his wife, family and friends. He loved spending time with his family, who were his greatest joy. On Thursday nights, he could be found at Twin Trees Too for “cookies and milk” with the close friends he made while volunteering for the marching band pit crew.
William was a loving, caring husband and father and touched the lives of every person who was lucky enough to spend any time with him. His wonderful sense of humor and his smile to warm your heart will always be fondly remembered by those who love him. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, the former Dawn Siegfried; son, Scott (Nicole) Osborne of Baldwinsville; daughter, Michelle (David) Osborne of Syracuse; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Kathy Osborne of Skaneateles and Ronald and Karen Osborne of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to HOA and the nurses, especially Priscilla and his niece, Bethany Osborne, for all their love, care and support.
Relatives and friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 11 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services were private. William was laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in William’s name to the Fund Committee at Hematology/Oncology Assoc., 5008 Brittonfield Parkway, East Syracuse, NY 13057 or to the LUNGevity Foundation, 435 No. LaSalle St., Suite 310, Chicago, IL 60654.
