Dr. Mary Ann Heindorf

Dr. Mary Ann Heindorf, 52, of Lansing, Mich., passed away Oct. 3, 2011, of natural causes. She was born July 7, 1959, in Syracuse. Mary Ann lived in New York, graduating from Liverpool High School in 1977. She then graduated from SUNY at Oswego. Mary Ann met her husband, John H. Grant III in 1980, and they moved to Lansing in 1981. Mary Ann attended MSU, graduating with two PhDs in chemistry and environmental toxicology. She worked for the state of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for 15 years. She had authored many papers, received many awards and was a graduate of MDEQ Leadership Academy. Mary Ann and her husband owned EZ Home Ownership Realty.
Surviving are her husband of 31 years, John Grant; her mother, Mary Heindorf; sister, Nancy Heindorf (Mike Teske); mother-in-law, Helen Grant; sister-in-law, Mary (Gary) Grant-Snyder; brother-in-law, Gerry (Marilyn) Boardman; and special friend, Jean MacKenzie. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur “Bob” Heindorf.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday Oct. 8 at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale.
