John “Poncho” Filippi, 71, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, with his loving family and friends by his side.
Born and raised in Watertown, John was employed with Edgcomb Metals as a shear operator and later as a self-employed carpet mechanic. John was an avid hunter, fisherman and boater.
John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, the former Joan Brownell; children Joanne (Gary Lagoe) Gould, Randall (Patty) Filippi, Joseph (Tricia) Filippi, and Margaret (Jimmy Carmean) Murphy; siblings Joseph (Pam) Filippi, Louis (Rose) Filippi, Caroline (Albert) Maeweather, and Daniel Filippi; grandchildren Damien (Janna), Brandon (Becky), Korey (Jodi), and Nathan Gould and Cameron Filippi; six great grandchildren; and loving cat Ramsey.
