Elizabeth Ida "Betty" Bowersox Farnham, 90, of Phoenix, passed away at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, on Friday morning, Dec. 23, 2011, with her family by her side. She was born to her late parents, Webster and Edna (Kline) Bowersox, in South Lansing, N.Y., on Oct. 28, 1921. A graduate of Cato-Meridian High School, class of 1939. Betty lived most of her life in the Phoenix area with her late husband, Charles Laurence Farnham, who passed on Dec. 20, 2009. For the past two years, Betty resided at her daughter and son-in-law's home, Janet and Larry Bednarczyk. Betty was a homemaker. She loved to tend to her many flower gardens. An avid reader, she especially enjoyed painting and was a member of the Baldwinsville Art Guild. She was a member of the Little Utica United Methodist Church. Besides her late parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Lyle Farnham on July 7, 1988.
Surviving are her eight daughters, sons, and their spouses, Linetta A. (Thomas) of Elbridge, Lynn L. (Wallace) Burns of Landrum, SC, Russell C. Farnham of NY, NY, Douglas L. Farnham of Albuquerque, NM, Janet M. (Larry) Bednarczyk of Marcellus, Brian L. (Sharon) Farnham of Waterbury, CT, Stuart A. (Linda) Farnham of Phoenix, NY, and Elizabeth M. (Clyde) Walts of Oneida; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Calling hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28 at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix. Services: 11 a.m. Thursdsay, Dec. 29, at the funeral home with her nephew, the Rev. Everett Bassett officiating. Burial in Chase Cemetery, Lysander, at the convenience of the family.
