Richard A. Jackman, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011. He was a self-employed school equipment consultant. He loved world traveling, brainteasers and the challenge of solving a good puzzle. His love of skiing inspired him to build a ski lift in his back yard. Dick would be best described as a self made man, who loved his wife and family. He was predeceased by his son, Richard J. Jackman in 2007 and a sister Carol Rorick in 2011
Survivors: his wife of 62 years, Cecilia Holleran Jackman; three sons, John (MaryJane) of PA, David and Paul (Sherri) both of Cicero; a daughter, Cynthia (Paul) McGinnis of LaFayette and a daughter in law, Jane of Canastota; two sisters, Barbara (Charlie) Upton of Silver Springs, MD, and Kathy Lachanse of Fayetteville; one brother Clifford Jackman of Haines City FL; two granddaughters, Alicia McGinnis and Barbara Leigh Phelps; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two beloved feline companions.
Funeral Services: 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel. Calling hours: 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, from at the funeral home, 8171 Cazenovia Road, (Route 92) Manlius.
