Shirley Garbinsky Stocker, 79, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, Dec. 4, 2011. She was an Auburn native who had lived in Cicero, West Monroe and Liverpool. She attended LeMoyne College and was a special education teacher in the Liverpool Schools until 1977.
Mrs. Stocker was a former member of Bishop Curley Council 3717 Columbiettes and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Cicero, where she had taught Religious Education.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Richard C. on Dec. 31, 2004 and by her son, Richard M., on November 16, 2004.
Surviving are her children, Karen (Richard) Stocker-LaQuidari of Liverpool, Susan (Donald) Betts of Camillus, Diane Meyers of Syracuse and James Stocker of Baldwinsville; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Stocker of Sodus; a sister, Judith Chater of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Greco, Stacey Meyers, Nicholas Meyers, Lindsay Meyers, Karl Stocker, Jeremy Stocker, Caraline Stocker, David LaQuidari and Courtney Stocker and three great-grandchildren, Jasmyne and Grace Greco and Payton LaQuidari.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 at Sacred Heart Church of Cicero, 8229 South Main St., Cicero with the family greeting friends following Mass. Private Internment will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Moyer's Corners. Contributions may be made to the Red Creek Central School's Richard M.
