Born in Geneva, Aug. 10, 1931, Jim Walsh passed peacefully with his six children and wife bedside at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft Lauderdale, Fl on Nov 22, 2011 He was the youngest of five children and a graduate of DeSales High School in Geneva. He served in the Air Force as a military police officer from1950-1954. Post duty he attended and graduated from Niagara University via the G.I. Bill, where he met his wife Jane Sippel. They were married the day after Christmas 1959.
Formerly a district sales manager for Scott Lawn Products after college, Walsh joined his brother Richard and Henry Lanctot in the Insurance Industry in 1963, serving a variety of commercial and personal clients.
Later he formed his own agency the James F Walsh agency in Snyder, N.Y. He was a former member of Wanakah Country Club, a long time parishioner at Christ the King parish, a lifelong member of the American Legion and a founding member of the Amherst Gaelic League. An avid golfer, he proudly held several patents on products useful to the recycling industry. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, children and a sister, Helen Redmond of Charlotte, N.C.
