Adam “Bart” Shostack, 64, of Camillus, passed away Friday Aug. 19, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center after a brief but hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Syracuse on Thursday Aug. 14, 1947, he spent his early years in Syracuse before moving to Camillus. Employed by the Syracuse City School District for more than 40 years, he was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and passionate outdoorsman. Bart was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Alice Shostack.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, the former Donna Wozniak; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Pauline Shostack, and Keith and Krystal Shostack; sisters and brother-in-law, Joanne and Joseph Sheridan, and Helen Shostack; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Shostack, John and Julie Shostack, and Richard and Kim Shostack; and the “love of his life,” grandson, Zachary.
Relatives and friends called from 4 to 7 p.m.Wednesday Aug. 24 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services were at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 25 at the funeral home. Adam was laid to rest at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
