Bernie McDole, 66, of Jordan, died Tuesday night Aug. 23, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. Survivors include children Morgan McDole, Kristy McDole, Natasha McDole, Karena LeVesque and Kathryn Seiter, fiancée Kathy Skutt and her family, five grandchildren, and many loving friends and family.
Bernie received commendations as a sharpshooter while serving in the Army during Vietnam. He was born in Saranac Lake and relocated to Syracuse in his 20s. He was a very hard and ethical worker. He was employed by Carrier Corp. for 15 years, and then he established his own business “McDole Co. Property Services” out of Jordan. Bernie was a fun-loving man who helped others and made them laugh. He enjoyed riding his Harley, bonfires, being in the company of people he loved, taking pride in his Irish heritage and watching Seinfeld. He will be greatly missed by many.
Calling hours: 4-7 p.m. Friday Aug. 26 at the Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St. (Route 5) Elbridge, with a service of remembrance following at 7 p.m. Graveside service with military honors: 2:30 p.m. Monday Aug. 29 in the Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse.
