Aarno A. Lahtinen

Surrounded by his loving family, Aarno Aulis Lahtinen, 78, of North Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday Aug. 23, 2011 after a long illness. He was born in Finland to Uuno and Impi Lahtinen.
Aarno’s kind heart and generosity along with his sense of humor will always be remembered by his wife Ritva, son Aimo (Nancy) Lahtinen, daughter Riitta (John) Gugliotto, grandchildren Sarah (Brian) Oliver, Erin Gugliotto (Gregory LaBarre), Lisa (Stephen) Thomas, Joshua (Jennifer) Gugliotto and Jacob Gugliotto, great-grandchildren; Abigail and Sofia Oliver, brother Aarre Lahtinen and sister Asta Allen both of Finland and by many nephews and nieces.
Aarno worked for many years as a printer at Friedel Paper Box Co. and also at Liverpool Litho. He loved getting together with family, going to the gym and computers. He was very artistic and skilled at painting, drawing and music.
Calling hours: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday Aug. 26 with a service following at 7 p.m. at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
