The address has not changed. But if you’ve visited LPL.org lately, you must have noticed that we’ve done away with the old look and built a brand new home page.
From top to bottom, there’s a whole new feel to our Liverpool Public Library web site. It starts at the top right corner of the home page, where the drop-down menu that appears when you hover over the keywords such as “Explore,” “Research” and “Events” makes it easy for you to navigate throughout the features that lie within. In fact, the whole design was planned with your time and online ease in mind.
In the middle of the home page, we’ve added a Blog feature. That’s where I’m writing about movies we’ll be showing during our various film series, or are part of the Blu-Ray/DVD catalog you can check out from MediaBank. For instance, “A Monster Calls” will be shown at 3:30 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 6, in the Carman Community Room. You can find my review of the movie right now on the Blog page.
I’ll also write about the bands that play in our music series in the Carman Community Room or outside on the Dinosaur Garden Lawn in nice weather. The Jefferson String Quartet plays at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, as part of the Fall Concert Series, and my piece about them will go up on the site the week ahead.
The Blog will also be the spot for photos and videos of various intriguing topics, people or events from around the library. Other staffers will contribute about their topics of interest, too.
Of course, you can still rely on finding the items you’ve grown to love and cherish, such as our recommended reading lists, numerous research databases and month-by-month events calendar.
So please click around at lpl.org. Make yourself comfortable. Our house is your house.
