ACR Health’s AIDS Walk/Run on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Beaver Lake Nature Center near Baldwinsville is the largest event in all of Central New York that supports programs and services to fight HIV and AIDS.
The 25th Annual AIDS Walk/Run, supported by Empower Federal Credit Union, starts at 10 a.m. – rain or shine. Registration begins earlier at 8:30 a.m. on event day. The AIDS Walk/Run benefits ACR Health and features a 5K fundraising walk, 5K timed run, and a 10K certified run. The event is known for its generous supplies of free food, drinks, and fundraising incentives.
Participants are encouraged to fundraise a minimum of $25. Those raising more receive great incentives. 100% of the proceeds stay in Central New York to benefit ACR Health’s youth HIV/STD prevention programs and emergency client needs.
The AIDS Walk/Run was founded in 1993 at the height of the AIDS epidemic and has raised more than $2.75 million to create a healthier community and fight AIDS. Sunday, June 4 at 10 a.m. we will pause for a moment to remember those we have lost; celebrate our progress; and push for an AIDS-free New York by 2020.
