Candidates sought for appointment to ESM school board

— The East Syracuse Minoa Board of Education is seeking qualified applicants to fill a board seat left vacant when Allison Tyminski Rumschik resigned effective Aug. 25, 2014.

The board-appointed candidate will serve until the next annual election in May 2015. Pursuant to state law, to be eligible to serve a candidate must be: 1) a citizen of the United States, 2) 18 years of age of older, 3) a legal resident of the school district for one year prior to appointment, and 4) able to read and write.

Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest explaining why they wish to temporarily fill the open seat, noting relevant qualifications by 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 to: East Syracuse Minoa Central Schools, Attn: District Clerk, 407 Fremont Road, East Syracuse, NY 13057.

Applicants cannot be a current employee of the ESM School District, may not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office, and cannot have a member of the same household currently serving on the ESM School Board.
