Local choral directors receive ‘Service Above Self’ award from Cazenovia Rotary

— During its May 12 meeting, the Cazenovia Rotary Club presented the “Service Above Self” award to Teresa and Bruce Campbell for their years of dedication to music in the community.

“We at Cazenovia Rotary are delighted to be able to recognize a couple of the area’s most outstanding members for their contributions to make our community a wonderful place to live and work,” said Cazenovia Rotary President-Elect Judson Ames.

Terry is Cazenovia Choral music director and has inspired her K through 12 students to love and enjoy music in their lives. Terry also directs the High School Drama Club’s spring musicals. Under her leadership, the high school chorus and chamber choir go above and beyond providing entertainment to the community at multiple venues outside of their high school obligations. Under her leadership, the Cazenovia High School was a Grammy Signature School semi-finalist by the Grammy Foundation.

Terry’s husband, Bruce Campbell, is Cazenovia College and Community Choral director. Prior to that, he was the Fayetteville-Manlius High School choral director for 35 years. He also has led many area church choirs.

Together, Terry and Bruce, through their music and community service, “light-up” the Central New York area and make this world just a bit more enjoyable.
