Caz Lions Club to lead 9th annual ‘Ride for Sight’

Annual motorcycle tour to benefit sight, hearing projects

— The Cazenovia Lions Club is calling all motorcycle riders to take the afternoon off and join other bikers on Saturday, June 7, for the 9th Annual “Ride for Sight.”

According to the event chairman, Howard LaFever, this event has raised more than $2,300 for the local Lions Club sight and hearing projects, in particular, its Vision Screening Program for young children.

This year’s event will run from 1 to 6 p.m., starting with registration at noon in the parking lot in front of GHD (formerly Stearns & Wheler) on Route 20 East, Cazenovia. All motorcycles are welcome.

A rain date is set for Sunday, June 8.

The ride will be similar to last year. Bikers will start at GHD and progress through the following communities: Nelson, Erieville, New Woodstock, DeRuyter and Marathon, before stopping at Whitney Point for pizza and garlic knots at Aiello’s Restaurant and then heading north on Route 26 through Willet, Pitcher, South Otselic, Otselic, Georgetown and ending in Morrisville at “The Fort” on Route 20.

The cost of participation is free; however, donations will be gratefully accepted.

For more information, contact Howard LaFever at 447-8731 or email howard.lafever@ghd.com.
