Coffee shop proposal spurned by F’ville planners

— Among the architectural features of the building is a two-sided “fake tower” that would hold signage for the coffee shop. Plans also include covering the existing brick façade of the building with beige concrete board.

Although no vote was taken, the board seemed unanimous in their criticism of the plans.

“I don’t see any effort on the part of the applicant to come in and be a part of the community,” said associate planning board member Jennifer Bybee, adding that the site plans don’t reflect at all the nature of the village or any effort on the part of the applicant to accept the board previous suggestions.

“If you want my vote,” Rice said. “It’s not gonna fly.”

Bouchard asked if the public hearing could be held open until the next meeting so that he and his client could make revisions to the plan. Rice rejected that request, indicating it would be a waste of everyone’s time until a new site plan is created.
