To the editor:
Each year at this time, high school juniors look forward to their year-end, black-tie event, which has been an age old tradition in the US and increasingly in the UK and Canada. More recently, parents and teachers, concerned about the safety of teens wishing to extend the evening, have begun a new tradition, the After Prom Party.
In Cazenovia, the entire community lends its support to turning out a “must attend” event after the formal. The after party is designed to provide a fun filled evening in a chaperoned, drug- and alcohol-free environment with prizes galore.
This year’s junior After Prom was no exception. The events were happily received, well attended and magnanimously supported with contributions of time, money, food and prizes.
Heartfelt thanks are in order to the many dedicated parents and generous local businesses, who are the village it takes to raise our children. Very special thanks to the Parent Teacher Student Association and to Jamie Kent, who headed the hard working committee, which made this year’s event possible. The names of contributing businesses are:
Atwell Mill, LLC, Cazenovia Athletic Dept., Caz Cans, Cazenovia Jewelry, Cazenovia United Educators, George Conway Esq., Delta Sonic, Eco-Baggeez, Friends of Bill Magee, GHD, Inc., Henderson & Associates, HG Ellis Insurance, Dr. Dave Konys, Leigh Baldwin & Co., Marquardt Switches, McSweeney Assoc., Nice n Easy, Oneida Savings, First Presbyterian Church, PTSA, Romano Dealerships, Skeele Agency, Toggenburg, Tops, Twisted Scissors and Wegmans.
