Manlius Runners and “mudders” of all ages will soon take part in the third annual Fay-Man Day of Races, scheduled for Sunday, July 27 at Fayetteville-Manlius High School. The event, which is a fundraiser for the F-M All Sports Booster Club, offers competitors three different races; the Muddy Hornet Challenge, the 5k Race of Champions and the Mud Puppy Dash Fun Run for kids.
In 2013, nearly 500 runners participated in the Fay-Man Day of Races, including 189 entrants in the inaugural Muddy Hornet Challenge. A three-mile obstacle course competition, the Muddy Hornet Challenge is modeled after the popular ‘Warrior-style” races. It includes over 20 different obstacles, from mud pits and water trenches, to climbing walls and tunnel crawls.
All proceeds from the Fay-Man Day of Races will go to the FM Booster Club General Fund to be available for use by all sports teams and facilities. The event raised approximately $11,000 in 2013.
Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome. All three races will start and finish at Fayetteville-Manlius High School. Registration check in opens at 7:30 a.m. and the first race will begin at 8:30 a.m.
