Open Farm Day to be held July 26

— With the long-awaited summer now in full swing, Open Farm Day is a chance to enjoy the bounty of some of Madison County’s best farms. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on July 26, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County invites the public to take a behind-the-scenes look at local farms at its seventh annual Open Farm Day as 35 farms and three farmers’ markets open their gates to the public.

Visitors will be treated to farm tours, rides, product samples, farm animals and an all-around good time at Madison County’s diverse farms. Home to naturally-raised beef and bison, pasture-raised pork and chickens, horses and ponies, sweet corn and veggies, pasture butter, mushrooms, jams and sauces, honey, salsa, wine, hops, hard and sweet cider, maple products and much more, Madison County’s farms have something to satisfy everyone!

Participants will need an Open Farm Day Passport and a cooler on July 26 to bring home delicious farm products. Open Farm Day Passports are available at ten Price Chopper locations in CNY, in local Madison County newspapers and are distributed to key locations in Onondaga, Oneida and Madison Counties.

For more information on Open Farm Day participants and the availability of passports, visit: OpenFarmDayMadisonCounty.com – or follow Open Farm Day on Facebook to keep up-to-date on the latest Open Farm Day news.
