On Sunday, Aug. 17, Beaver Lake Nature Center invites walkers and runners to the 11th annual Upstate Chiropractic Beaver Lake Run. The morning includes a youth run, 5K run, and 10K run on Beaver Lake Nature Center’s beautiful wooded trails. Participants may register in advance or on the day of the race between 8 and 9 a.m. Each event’s start time is between 9 and 9:30 a.m. All entry fees benefit the nature center and are $3 for the youth run and $25 for the 5K and 10K. Family canoe outing
Families with children in grades one through five can join a naturalist for an exploration of Beaver Lake at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 12. The canoe tour will include an opportunity to look for wildlife along the shore, in the air and the water. The cost is $20 per canoe and advance registration is required.
Outdoor activities for preschoolers
Preschoolers will enjoy weekly explorations of Beaver Lake at the Nature Center’s Sharing Nature Summer Camp this July and August. Each week brings a new opportunity for discovery through nature walks, games and crafts. Choose either Thursdays or Fridays from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

The cost per child is $7 per session or $30 for all four sessions and advance registration is required. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
