LETTER: Could the town board consider the old Friendly’s property for new town hall?

To the editor:

After reading about the possible relocation of the town offices and police department in the July 2 edition of the Eagle Bulletin (“Manlius Town Board may be considering potential sites for a new town hall,”) the first thought I had was leave the offices where they are on Brooklea Drive and move the police department to the corner of Routes 5 and 257 - the former Friendly’s ice cream location.

It's no worse than the old Manlius elementary school, and basically right in the middle of the township, just like the improved firehouse. The firehouse controls the traffic signal there, and so could the police station.
