To the editor:
It was a record-breaking year all around, even with record cold temperatures! From the 1,012 registrants to the 845 finishers braving the elements to the 24 event sponsors and 16 food and beverage sponsors.
None of this would have been possible without a host of volunteers helping with marketing, registration and packet pickup at both Fleet Feet Sports and Cazenovia Central School. Event safety was the focus of on-course road marshals, New York State and Cazenovia Village Police and CAVAC. Ending our thanks as we ended the chilly day, we thank Cazenovia College for the use of their athletic facility for the warmest part of the day.
The Chilly Chili, now billed as the premier winter road race in CNY, is a fundraiser to benefit the Cazenovia Children's House Childcare Center. Proceeds are used to support children's programs, provide tuition assistance to qualifying families and assist the center with funding capital improvement projects such as new flooring.
Please show your thanks to the following event sponsors: Cazenovia Jewelry, AmeriCU Credit Union, Allure Fitness and Dance, Bryant & Stratton College, First Niagara, Oneida Savings, State Farm – Mike Nichoporuk, Bousquet Holstein PLLC, Empire State Marathon, Key Bank, Prudential CNY Realty and Willowbank Company.
In-kind sponsors included: B104.7, Cazenovia College, Eagle Newspapers, National Grid, Oldies 96.1 WODZ, The Oneida Daily Dispatch, Sywest Medical Technologies, Boone Design, Custom 24 Printing, Fleet Feet Sports, News Channel 9, The Run Down and Tim Scanlon Design.
The day's chill was thawed by the many food and beverage sponsors. Be sure to visit Bella's Cafe, Brae Loch Inn, Cazenovia College, Cazenovia Pizzeria, Circa, Dave's Diner, Hennenberg Tavern, Latte Da! Cafe and Bakehouse, Lincklaen House, Pewter Spoon Cafe and Eatery, Strong Hearts Cafe, Subway of Cazenovia, The Foggy Goggle Restaurant and Sports Bar, The Purple Salamander Cafe, Tops Friendly Markets, Henneberg Brewing Company, Cooperstown Brewing Company and Empire Brewing Company to say “Thank you!”
On behalf of the entire board of directors at the Cazenovia Children's House, thanks again for making the 10th Annual Chilly Chili a tremendous success.
