Skaneateles fire department Sept. update

The officers and members of the Skaneateles Fire Department would like to take this opportunity to offer a big thank you to all that participated in or supported the annual Skaneateles Fire Department Labor Day Celebration. We would also like to thank all of the sponsors that provided financial and in kind support of this year’s Labor Day celebration:

As a way to say thank you to these individuals and businesses for their continued support of the Skaneateles Fire Department, we are asking for the local community to “shop locally” at those establishments that support the efforts of the Skaneateles Fire Department. Also, the continued assistance provided by the employees of the village and town of Skaneateles highway department, the town of Skaneateles recreation department and the village of Skaneateles police department is greatly appreciated.

The dedicated members of the Skaneateles Fire Department continue to respond when called upon. For the month of August, the members of the Skaneateles Fire Department responded to a total of 38 calls bringing the yearly total to 240 calls thus far, 17 calls fewer than the same time last year. Below is a summary of Augusts’ responses:

Fire: 15

Rescue: 9

EMS: 5 (SFD responds when SAVES is on another call)
