Lakers gain sweeps over Fowler, Mexico

Twice more, the Skaneateles girls volleyball team took the court last week, and both of them resulted in one-sided victories.

The Lakers visited Fowler last Wednesday night, and while the Falcons played tough early, Skaneateles still earned a three-set sweep by scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-11.

Against visiting Mexico on Friday night, the Lakers rolled through the first two sets before slipping a bit in the third set, though it still translated into a 25-7, 25-10, 25-23 sweep of the Tigers.

Olin took on a starring role, picking up nine kills. Farrell had five kills, two aces and two blocks, while Kristina Didio managed three aces. Roche added two kills, two aces and two digs as again, Campanile had a modest showing, earning 11 assists.

Now a pair of tough matches awaited the Lakers (6-1), who visit Homer on Tuesday night before returning home Thursday and battling archrival Marcellus.
