Cazenovia Learning for the fun of it at the Cazenovia Public Library
Lifelong Learning, operated through the Upstate Institute at Colgate University, will present “Learning for the Fun of It” in the Cazenovia Public Library Community Room at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20. Time for Q and A will be available after the informational presentation.
Open to all, Lifelong Learning offers courses, lectures, and events that respond to community interest. Taught by community members and by Colgate faculty, the non-credit program is organized by local community members and welcomes everyone from the entire central New York region to join in its classes.
Fall class samples include “Aches and Pains;” “The Ins and Outs of ebay;” “Collecting,” taught by Jim Loveless, Colgate Art Professor; “The Politics of the Papacy,” taught by Tim Byrnes, Colgate Professor and panelist on WCNY Ivory Tower; “Coping with Grief;” “The Middle East Today;” and many other fascinating selections.
At the Sept. 20 presentation, two members from the Lifelong Learning Board will provide a taste of fall courses, provide course brochures and answer questions.

The Art of College Cost Funding at the Cazenovia Public Library
“The Art of College Cost Funding” will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, in the Cazenovia Public Library community room to help parents start planning now in order to have more options when trying to secure money for their children’s education.
Topics covered during the lecture will include how to navigate through the maze of college funding, how to properly lower their out-of-pocket costs, how to pay for college without relying on 529 plans, how to send their children to an expensive private university for less than a state college and how to select colleges that will provide them with the best financial aid package.
