Taeckens is an eight-year district resident. She volunteers at Enders Road Elementary School and was formerly a parent representative for the district’s Committee on Special Education. She formerly volunteered as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, was a member of the Crouse Hospital Auxiliary Board of Directors, was a member of the Post-Standard’s Parent Advisory Group for its family columnist and served as a guest blog author for The Post Standard website.
Taeckens graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines, IA. She received two degrees from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor: a bachelor’s degree in space science engineering and a master’s degree in health services administration. She is an independent, health-strategy consultant and has served at both Crouse and Upstate hospitals in that capacity.
She and her husband, James D. Taeckens, have three children, one attending Eagle Hill Middle School and two at Enders Road Elementary School.
