Cazenovia Cazenovia College officials announced recently a $1 million commitment from the Jephson Educational Trusts to name the institution’s 10 Albany Street address “Jephson Campus.”
The gift will contribute significantly to the refurbishment and expansion of the studio-arts facilities on the site previously known as South Campus. It represents the largest pledge ever made by the Jephson trustees, who administer endowed funds established by the late Lucretia Davis Jephson, the former owner of the Hillcrest Estate in Cazenovia.
The Jephson Educational Trusts’ gift is the largest commitment so far toBuilding Futures One at a Time: The Campaign for Cazenovia College, composing a significant part of the $7 million raised toward the overall $10 million goal. The Jephson Campus project is one of the six funding priorities of this ongoing fundraising effort.
Cazenovia College President Mark Tierno will continue to work with a committed team of campaign volunteers as well as other community members as the Jephson Campus project takes shape throughout the fundraising and planning process.
“I am deeply gratified by the extraordinary generosity shown by the Jephson trustees who continue to oversee the philanthropic priorities established by Mrs. Jephson,” said President Tierno. “The College has been very fortunate to not only benefit from the generosity of its employees and alumni, but also from members of the community who believe in the mission of our institution and its positive impact on the region.”
The official naming of Jephson Campus will take place on Saturday, September 28, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the 10 Albany Street location. The event is open to the public.
