Salina LETTER: Piraino doesn't belong on the bench
To the editor:
As you should know, The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct has charged Judge Piraino with judicial misconduct for charging the wrong fines to over 900 people in the town court and failing to adequately supervise his court staff. As the Post-Standard has previously reported, Judge Piraino has acknowledged his repeated mistakes.
I believe many Salina residents will (and should) vote for change because we need to expect more than simple name recognition from our elected officials.
I will be voting for Aaron Arnold this Election Day. Aaron is a nationally-recognized leader in justice system reform; he provides training to judges and other court officials throughout the country. He will bring experience and professionalism to the Salina Town Court. I urge other Salina voters to join me in supporting Aaron Arnold.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
