To the editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to encourage Lysander voters to return Lisa Dell as Town Clerk and elect Roman Diamond as town councilor. I have known Lisa Dell for over twenty years since she was hired as a Baldwinsville police officer under the administration of my mother, Mayor Jean Wells. Lisa served the village of Baldwinsville with dedication and distinction as a member of one of the best police departments in Central New York. She has continued that same work ethic in her position as Lysander Town Clerk, having made numerous improvements to the clerk’s office with a strong focus on customer service. I, myself, have had a few occasions where I needed assistance from the town clerk’s office and Lisa and her staff were nothing but courteous, friendly and extremely efficient.
I first came to know Roman Diamond in 2011 when he was a senior in high school seeking a seat on the board of education. I was immediately impressed with his determination to seek an elected position at such a young age, wanting to become a public servant. Some argue that Roman is too young and inexperienced. I disagree. I have seen in Roman a tremendous willingness to learn by listening to others, seeking out information and always asking excellent questions. (He is also one really nice guy) At times, Roman and I may disagree on some of the major issues of the day, but always in an atmosphere of mutual respect and appreciation for the other’s point of view. Out of our many philosophical conversations (and the sharing of books, magazine articles and movies, etc...) a very nice friendship has evolved.
Both Roman and Lisa are fine people who care deeply about their community. They will serve ALL the residents of Lysander well. They deserve your vote on Nov. 5.
