To the editor:
As a director for a local non-profit organization, I see a lot. I see the unfortunate, aging, and disabled desperately seeking simple things that most of us take for granted. I see the volunteer effort it takes to enable existence. I see the lines that form for funding grants and assistance and the hoops to jump through to receive the award. I see the expense involved to maintain and manage.
A non-profit organization is not an easy simple thing, it takes an entire communities effort to be beneficial and successful. It is extremely helpful when the community’s municipalities are supportive and we are grateful for that.
Mary Sennett and the Skaneateles Party’s commitment in last week’s paper, to support this community’s non-profit groups, was a relief to me because I see a lot of things that would not be possible without the support of the town and village.
