Someone was certainly going to pay for the Skaneateles girls volleyball team’s renewed focus and energy – not to mention anger –following its Oct. 3 defeat to Solvay.
When the Lakers returned to league play last Tuesday night against Hannibal, it turned into a romp as Skaneateles recorded a 25-7, 25-15, 25-16 sweep over the Warriors.
Anna Smith served up nine of the team’s 17 aces, to go with seven assists, part of a three-pronged back line as Mia Campanile finished with 10 assists and Grace Delasin added six assists.
Nine different players picked up kills, led by Natalie Roche’s total of seven kills, as Kelsey Kraetz picked up six kills. Delasin and Mallorie Olin each got four kills as Bailey Herr stepped up with three kills and two aces.
Skaneateles rolled again on Thursday night, venturing to Bishop Grimes and only having a bit of a struggle in the third set as it put away the Cobras 25-17, 25-9, 27-25.
Delasin fit in nine assists, five kills and three aces to lead the way. Olin produced a team-best nine kills, while Roche and Kelsey Kraetz also picked up five kills. Herr added four kills as Campanile and Kelsey Farrell both gained four aces.
Skaneateles (10-2) had another challenging home match on Tuesday, when it took on LaFayette prior to a Thursday-night trip to Fulton.
