The first snow storm of the season put in its appearance last Saturday night. Large flakes fell in abundance for about an hour.
Notice is given to the owners of the doves that haunt Mr. Parsons’ mill, will do well to take care of them if they wish to preserve them.
We erred in stating the height of poles last week. Mr. Parson’s pole is 45 feet high and Mr. Smith’s 65 feet high. They will keep growing until after election.

Oct. 2, 1913 – The altar society of St. James’ church is to purchase the center window to be placed over the altar. The proceeds of the harvest supper to be given next Tuesday night will go towards this fund.

Oct. 3, 1963 — Three Cazenovia girls donated fifteen dollars to the Madison County Society for Mental Health, proceeds of a neighborhood raffle and carnival. Ed Johnson, treasurer received a letter and check August 8, signed by Patricia Lyon, 11 Albany Street, Cazenovia, Karen Talbot and Anne Ryan.
WE WELCOME. A son, Thomas Nix Barden, weighing 8 lbs., 11 ½ oz., born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Barden, Pompey Center Road on Monday, September 23, 1963, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse. Mrs. Barden is the former Beverly Nix, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Nix of Upper Lincklaen St. A son, Scott Mark Eno, weighing 7 lbs., born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Eno of Burton St. on Thursday, Oct. 1, 1963 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse. Mrs. Eno is the former Dorothy Dwyer of Cazenovia.
Next Thursday, Oct. 10, “The Caz Cats” will be heard on WNDR’s “Teen Scene” from 8 to 9 p.m. The group is composed of C.C.S. High School students Dave Novak (lead guitar), John Dancks (rhythm), Jeff Owens (rhythm and bass) and Dean Armstrong (drummer).
The Town of Cazenovia has renewed the Fire Protection Agreement with the Village of Cazenovia at a cost of $2500.00 per year for two years, from Sept. 1, 1963 to Sept. 1, 1965. This brings all fire contracts (Nelson, Fenner and Cazenovia) made with the Village due the same year.
Years ago in history is compiled by Sharon Cooney, the interpretive programs assistant at Lorenzo, using the Cazenovia Republican archives at Lorenzo State Historic Site. It is written in the style of the time.
