Cazenovia High School junior Keaton Ackermann earned high honors this summer as he placed among the top performers at the Patrick Chung Football Camp, hosted by Sports International., Ackermann was able to out play almost 100 campers to be selected as part of the program’s prestigious Gridiron Elite.
This camp, held at Merrimack College in Andover, Mass., offered both overnight and day camp options, and featured Chung, formerly of the New England Patriots, as the headliner.
The camp is designed for players ages 7 to 18 and features daily instruction, lectures, and demonstrations by Chung and current members of the Patriots. The college and high school coaches conduct practices filled with in-depth instruction, lectures, and demonstrations.
Campers were grouped by age, position, ability and experience to allow coaches to progressively teach basic and advanced techniques to best benefit each group.
At the end of the week, the top performers were selected to the Sports International Gridiron Elite (ages 15-18 only). The Gridiron Elite is an exclusive club made up of the top high school football players that attend camp.
Each recipient, including Ackermann, was hand-selected by the coaching staff at the camp. Players selected for the prestigious Gridiron Elite will have outperformed many of their peers to earn their coach's recognition.
As a member of the Gridiron Elite, Sports International will be sending each camper's information to more than 2,000 college coaches throughout the nation to aid in their recruiting efforts.
