Grassroot involvement pays off

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

Last weekend, the community came out in a big way to attend the Barn Sale to benefit the Skaneateles Education Foundation. Organized by Lisa Terhune, Jill Marshall and Heidi Striegel, and supported by a team of volunteers, consignors offered décor and furniture and donated 50 percent of their profit to the Education Foundation. Heather and Tim Carroll provided the use of their Mandana Barn and Chris Neumann of Erie Materials provided a truck and drivers to help with transportation. Community members bought over $18,000 of new and gently used treasures for the home, netting over $9,000 to benefit education. On behalf of the SEF board of directors and the students of this community, I’d like to thank everyone who made the recent barn sale such a wild success.
