Cazenovia Artisans to host reception for new glassblowing exhibit

— The work of Shauna Walsh, an accomplished glass blower and artist, will have her work displayed at Cazenovia Artisans during the month of October, with a reception for Walsh to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18.

Walsh, a member of Cazenovia Artisans, grew up in Fayetteville and lives and works in her own glass blowing studio in Central New York. She studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Massachusetts College of Art.

She combiners the science and art of glass blowing to create beautiful pieces of glass in the forms of vases, bowls, sculptures and more. She also brings her talent for drawing to glass, creating richly textured and layered natural scenes.

In 2010, Walsh was rewarded for her talent and hard work by being admitted to Roycroft Artisans, a group of juried artisans who are committed to developing their craft.
