LETTER: Thoughts from a SAVES member

Volunteering at SAVES has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Often, by the time we reach the hospital, our patients are feeling a bit better or at least more comfortable. The men and women I work with here are quality people. They are here to serve others. They are not just my co-workers but they are my friends.

As I now begin my fifth year at SAVES, I just wanted you to know my thoughts. My time here has been well spent since I have gotten so much pleasure from helping others. I have gained the respect of those I work with and they, by their actions, have gained mine. I feel as though the community is not aware of how fortunate they are to have such a remarkable organization that is always there for the worst of times.

You too can join the SAVES to reap the rewards. I never realized four years ago what I was getting into nor the great satisfaction and self-fulfillment I would receive. I am grateful that this community gives all of its members an opportunity to serve in this capacity.
