Along the Lakeshore: Nov. 27

The effects of weather on the lake

Mr. Lemon has been a bit slowed by foot stiffness which is probably the result of arthritis. Dr. Bill has given him a regimen which works in 30 to 40 percent of cases and hopefully it will ease his moves when he gets up and starts to travel. When he is up and around he seems to move okay.

It seems odd to me that although I often write about stuff of interest to everybody on the lake watershed, the only feedback I get relates to how Mr. Lemon is doing and his current adventures. It is too bad that he can’t write a column himself. Then maybe folks would ask him how old Joe is doing

The ducks on our lake have been slow in showing up. David Graham reports that he spotted a group of ducks last week that consisted of buffleheads, mergansers, and a few scaup. I saw a group of six buffleheads, but not the usual group hanging out at Bentley Cove. This group just seemed to be passing by.
