VFW, Silver Fox Senior Social Club honors veterans

“It is so important to us to honor and remember our veterans. It is easy for us to take for granted what they have done for us,” said Activity Director Breanna Advey. “Some of them were barely grown up when they served; the memories of what they have been through have been with them for most of their adult lives. The stories of their experiences are a real, living history. We are fortunate they are here today to share it with us”.

In conjunction with Advey, Durkin wanted to remind the public that the money raised by donations and the Remembrance Poppy sales goes directly to the work for the veterans in our local area.

“It is important for people to remember that the money we raise doesn’t go somewhere else,” said Durkin. “It stays right here, in our own local community, to keep on supporting our veterans and their families”.
