Cazenovia This year’s AP Government class at Cazenovia High School is taking part in the planning to rezone Village Edge South, the land across from the Tops Plaza. Residents of Cazenovia have been asked to give feedback on the possible design layouts for the Village Edge South property by taking a Visual Preference Survey, offered by the village. The survey is quick, easy and extremely beneficial to the planners of Cazenovia development. The AP Government students have played an instrumental part in promoting the survey throughout the community.
Students have posted flyers around the community providing information about meeting times, dates and locations where discussion about the area will be held. Signs have been made and posted on the fence by Lakeside Park, as well as on the Village Edge South site to raise awareness of the survey.
The Visual Preference Survey has been placed in binders that are accessible to the public at Common Grounds and the Cazenovia Public Library.
Students also helped administer the survey during the Project CAFE Election Night Dinner fundraiser at Dave’s Diner on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Approximately two dozen citizens were able to participate in the survey process in the Common Grounds area of 35 Albany St. throughout the dinner.
Students also helped to modify the survey electronically so that it can be completed on the village of Cazenovia website. Simply visit villageofcazenovia.com and then click the “Planning and Zoning” link on the left hand column. Follow the instructions for the Visual Preference Survey and complete the survey.
The students of the AP Government class at the high school have worked hard and devoted their time to promoting the planning process and the Visual Preference Survey in order to maintain the historic and picturesque image of the village as well as the sense of community in Cazenovia. Now it is the community’s turn to provide its views about potential development in our village.
