Wildcats Earn NEAC All-Conference Honors

Three seniors, three freshmen and one sophomore earn post season recognition after earning All-Conference selections.

— Several Cazenovia College Wildcats were recognized last week for their outstanding play this season, earning a spot on the NEAC All-Conference Team for their respective sport. The list includes three seniors, three freshmen and one sophomore.

Women’s Cross Country

Shelby McIntyre – Freshman – Second Team NEAC All-Conference (Ilion, NY) – McIntyre set the all-time Cazenovia College record earlier this season after finishing a 5k event with a time of 19:06. Her finishing time of 21:58 in last weekend’s NEAC Championships earned McIntyre a spot on second team all-conference.

Kristen Nicolais – Senior – Second Team All-Conference (Mehopac, NY) – Nicolias posted a season best time of 20:34 at the Hartwick Invitational back in early October. She finished with a time of 22:17 at the NEAC Championships last weekend, earning her a spot in the second team.

Emily Kotnik – Freshman – Third Team All-Conference (Sagamore Hills, Ohio) - Kotnik’s best time of season came at the Hartwick Invitational earlier this season after posting a time of 21:13. Finishing last weekend’s NEAC Championship with a time of 22:18, Kotnik earned a spot on the NEAC All-Conference third team.

Taylor MacFarland – Senior – Third Team All-Conference (Broadalbin, NY) – Also posting a season best at the Hartwick invitational, MacFarland finished with a time of 22:17. Her time of 22:54 at this past weekend’s NEAC championships earned her a spot on the third team.

Men’s Soccer

Conor Cahalan – Sophomore – Third Team NEAC All-Conference (Cohoes, NY) – Cahalan’s Third Team honors come after an outstanding all-around performance controlling the midfield this season for the Wildcats. Appearing in all eight conference games, Cahalan led the Wildcats to a (4-9-1, 4-3-1 NEAC) record and a spot in this weekend’s semi-finals.

Travis Lasher – Senior – Third Team NEAC All Conference (Mansfield, MA) – One of two seniors on the men’s soccer team, Lasher led the Wildcats defensively appearing in all 14 games this season.

Women’s Soccer

Taylor Lynch – Freshman – Third Team NEAC All-Conference (Saugerties, NY) – Lynch earned Third Team honors after leading the women’s soccer team to an (8-10, 7-4 NEAC) record, a 4th place ranking in the regular season standings, and a spot in the NEAC Quarterfinals. Lynch led the team with 11 goals scored and 23 total points on the season.
