— Less than 12 minutes later, B'ville had doubled its margin, as Jeff Mahar, free on the right side, passed to the middle, where Gates sent a header past Obrist.

The Bees would not score again, but would not need to. F-M sent waves of attacks throughout the night, but B'ville's defenders never flinched, constantly getting their bodies in front of potential shots and forcing others off target.

And this brings the Bees another chance at its first-ever state Class AA title. On Saturday, B'ville (15-3-1) will face Section II champion Guilderland in the regional finals, with a berth in the Nov. 16-17 state final four in Middletown on the line.
