Warriors overwhelmed by CBA in sectional semis

Liverpool football sees five-game win streak halted

— The Warriors failed to score again until midway through the fourth quarter. During that span, the Brothers scored 27 points and amassed a 55-14 edge. Zazzara had a hand in all four touchdowns, throwing 20 yards to Donalson for one score and running eight yards for another during the third period.

Zazzara finished the day passing for 219 yards on eight-for-13 attempts, also rushing 11 times for 66 yards and two touchdowns.

Liverpool did score twice in the fourth quarter to slightly lessen the deficit as Capoto threw a 41-yard TD pass to James Wade and a 16-yard scoring strike to Ben Terzini.

Still, it marked the end of a 6-3 campaign where Liverpool recovered from a 1-2 start to win five consecutive games and blank West Genesee 28-0 in the playoffs before it all ended against CBA. Capoto graduates, but Scott is just a sophomore, and could prove a foundation for the Warriors each of the next two years.
