Lysander Parks and Recreation spring programs

— Tennis lessons

Taught by Chris Galle, a USTPA certified professional or another professional instructor from Tennis-n-Gear, these lessons will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. (ages 8 to 11 years old) and 7 to 8 p.m. (ages 12 to 15 years old) on Mondays at Lysander Park.

Boater’s safety course

The Boating Safety Course is a one-day training held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 22, in the Lysander Town Hall auditorium (for participants 10 years old and older). The course, which focuses on the importance of safety on the water, will require all participants to pass an exam to receive their certification. Run by CNY Navigation and Sheriff Wright (who can inform you of your rights and the laws on the water ways), the course also meets the regulations to operate all personal watercrafts. There will be a one-hour break for lunch.

TRX Fitness in the park

TRX Suspension Training, offered from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays (July 8 to Aug. 7) at Lysander Park, is a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s bodyweight to enable hundreds of exercises that can be instantly scaled for any user to reach any fitness or training goal. The easy scalable nature of TRX Suspension Training makes it a practical solution where you are on the fitness continuum. You will need to bring your own workout/yoga mat to each class. Participants must be 16 years of age or older.
