Theobald, Manlius Republicans receive Conservative Party backing

— At a meeting of the Town of Manlius Conservative Party Committee on Thursday, May 2, Town Supervisor Ed Theobald and his slate of Republican running mates received the party’s designation for this fall’s town elections.

In addition to Theobald, nominated were Karen Green, David Marnell, Vince Giordano and Jason Cassalia for Town Board, Bob O’Leary for Town Justice, Allison Edsall for Town Clerk, Rob Cushing for Highway Superintendent and Laurie Peschel for Tax Receiver. All are currently serving in those petitions.

The designation of the Conservative Party is considered crucial to the success of candidates in the Manlius elections. The designation means the Republican candidates will appear on the Conservative Party line (Row C) on the ballot, along with the Republican line (Row B).

“We are pleased to receive the endorsement of the Conservative Party,” said Theobald. “The platform of the Conservative Party very closely aligns with the manner in which we have always tried to govern, by trying to limit the reach and the scope of government in our town. We will continue to always strive to reflect those values in the way we run our town. The Conservative Party designation is a big step forward to victory in November.”

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th.

Manlius County Legislator Kevin Holmquist received the same designation from the Onondaga County Conservative Party last month.
