Baldwinsville Final plans are underway for the second annual Farm Fest sponsored by the Town of Lysander. The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Sunday, May 19, and will highlight the following farms:
Abbott Farms will offer guided farm tours, wagon rides, animals, tastings, food (including their special maple barbecue roast beef sandwiches and hotdogs), bounce house, ice cream (of course) and art on the farm with the theme being “SEEDS, SEEDS and SEEDS.”
Bella Via Farms will offer guided tours of the cheese and milk bottling plant, milking demos, a baby goat petting area and samples of goat products (milk, cheese, ice cream and fudge).
Smoke Tree Farms will offer pony rides, demos on different levels of riding and jumping with an instructor, face painting and a raffle for a free riding lesson. There will be learning stations held about horses throughout the day along with both the Smoke Tree IEA Team and the Syracuse University Equestrian Club.
More fun surprises are in store – be sure to remember your cameras. Also participating is the Museum at the Shacksboro Schoolhouse, which will have vintage local farming photos as well as mid-20th Century display ads promoting local farmers and farms.
There will be lots to see, touch, taste and do at this year’s Farm Fest, so be sure not to miss this fun family day. For more details or to see a flyer and map, visit townoflysander.org (link right to the information on the main page).
